Meet Our Governors

Alex Hill

Chair

Alex Hill is a co-opted governor who joined in April 2023. He is the father of two girls who attend Latchmere School. Alex is a commodities trader currently working for a large investment bank. He brings with him a wealth of experience in problem solving, strategic planning, and decision making. He is passionate about helping Latchmere School to continue in providing uncompromising care of pupils, while achieving high academic standards.

David Weaver

Vice Chair

David Weaver is a parent governor and was elected in May 2021. He is father to two girls who both love going to Latchmere school. David is a chartered chemical engineer and currently works for a major pharmaceutical company in business development leading mergers and acquisitions. He brings extensive experience of developing and setting strategy, building and leading teams to be accountable to deliver results while working to controlled budgets. He greatly appreciates the opportunity to serve on the board of governors and is dedicated to ensuring all pupils can fulfil their true potential at Latchmere.

Carolyn Coles

Governor

Carolyn Coles is Head of School. She has been part of the governing body for over ten years, originally joining to gain a wider knowledge of the whole school. Carolyn is passionate about children’s learning and believes that all children can succeed given the correct opportunities and support. She recognises the dedication from all staff in ensuring that Latchmere gives the children a positive start to their school careers and that all teaching is of high quality.

Mr Joshua Ayres

Governor

Joshua Ayres joined as a staff governor is June 2023. He has been a member of staff at Latchmere since 2010 and is currently employed as Head of P.E and behaviour lead. Joshua has joined the governing body to acquire a broader understanding of the school’s operations. Joshua is passionate about children’s learning and is dedicated to ensuring all pupils can achieve their best at Latchmere. Latchmere has a strong place in his heart as he attended the school as a child.

Tom Early
Jo Franklin

Governor

Jo Franklin became a Co-Opted Governor in March 2024; her two children attended the school in the early 1990s.

Jo is an advisory teacher for deafblind children. Much of her career has been concerned with working with families and teachers to create environments (people, places, and curriculum) where children with Complex Needs can thrive; both in special and mainstream schools. She is also a keen advocate for the role of the Arts in school – to build confidence and resilience. Being one of the Board of Governors will enable Jo to bring her extensive experience from a wide variety of different settings to the team.

Megan Murray Jones

Governor

Megan has been a parent at Latchmere since 2019 with two very happy children at the school and another joining in 2026.

Megan worked on the Board at a PR and Marketing company before leaving the corporate world to specialise in reflexology, breath-work and postpartum care for new parents. She brings together her comms and Board experience with a passion for teacher, parent and child health to support the Latchmere community to thrive.

Percy Mak

Governor

Percy Mak joined as a parent governor in March 2022. His daughter has been attending Latchmere school for two years and enjoys her time very much. Percy is passionate about children’s education and has worked in the education industry for almost 10 years.

Being part of school councils, Percy has the experience of setting and shaping the vision, mission and goals of various schools and he is dedicated to guide the future direction of Latchmere School. He is delighted to work alongside the governing body ensuring that every child at Latchmere school achieve their full potential in a fun, nurturing, and safe environment.
