The LSPA is a registered charity – its main aim is to raise funds for your school.
However, it is not just about fundraising! We also believe that Latchmere parents and children, together with the teachers, form a great community and we try to support our school to build and strengthen that community.
The LSPA also supports the school by organising the uniform shop; managing our volunteer pool crew – who maintain the swimming pool; organising refreshments at school events, and many other activities.
How to get involved
All parents are automatically part of the LSPA and are welcome to come along to committee meetings and join the committee. This means helping to organise LSPA activities and fundraising events, with whatever time they have available. We have a range of people, mums and dads, on the committee with children in KS1 and KS2 – some are full-time parents, other work full or part-time. It’s great to have the chance to get more involved with the school and we are always looking for more people to get involved and bring whatever skills you may have – please don’t think it’s not for you, there’s always something!!
If you would like to join the committee, please do come to a meeting – they are advertised in our weekly ParentPay message, on our website Latchmere School Parents’ Association (pta-events.co.uk) and on posters around the school. Most activities are organised through smaller groups or rotas of parents. It doesn’t have to be time consuming – just a few hours help really makes a difference. If there are any activities that you would like to do but are unsure of what it entails, then an existing committee member will be happy to work alongside you.
